Developer with a passion for nature

We are Observation International. We built trustworthy, easy and fun to use IT solutions for volunteers and professionals, enabling everybody to record and share nature observations. These consist of web sites (like this one) and mobile apps like ObsIdentify, ObsMapp and iObs. We are involved in several national and international projects, always working on the optimal combination of nature and IT.

About you

  • A Mobile App Developer who is passionate about nature.
  • Has experience with JavaScript/React Native, or is willing to switch to this language.
  • Preferable has experience with app development on Android or iOS.
  • Good communication skills, has to speak English, preferably speaks Dutch.
  • Positive attitude, team player.

About us

  • We build mobile apps in React Native. We build web applications in Python and Django.
  • We work in projects, in teams, using 3-4 week sprints.
  • We actively use and contribute to Open Source Software.
  • We work mostly remote, but also have the use of office space at Naturalis in Leiden (NL).
  • The team currently consists of 14 people.
  • We are supported and steered by an international board, many volunteers and various (inter)national partner organizations.
